Apply By November 11 For One Of Three
Scholarships To VO Atlanta 2017 Conference

(VOXtra) - What? Free tuition to attend a major voice over conference?

Yes, that's a possibility with a scholarship, but you've got to work at it - and qualify. Plus, the November 11 deadline to apply for three scholarships at next year's major event - VO Atlanta 2017, March 9 to 12 - is fast approaching.

The scholarships to this event offered by the VO Peeps' Career Education and Scholarship Fund are:

1. The Carol Joy Memorial Scholarship (for U.S. residents only)
$597 total value, including one VIP registration to VO Atlanta 2017's panels, breakout sessions and networking activities.

2. International Scholarship (for voice over artists residing outside of the U.S.)
$597 total value, including one VIP registration to VO Atlanta 2017's panels, breakout sessions and networking activities.

3. Youth Scholarship (for ages 7 to 15)
$197 total value, including one registration to the VO Atlanta Youth Program 2017 on March 11.

HOW TO ENTER


First things first:

Applicants must "Clearly display a passion for voiceovers, voiceover acting and voiceover performance, and demonstrate a need for this scholarship," explains VO Peeps organizer Anne Ganguzza (pictured). Ganguzza is also the Lead Conference Host and a conference presenter.

Of course, previous winners of a VO Peeps scholarship are not eligible.

Entry requirements for the Carol Joy Memorial and International scholarships include a:
  • Written essay (no more than two pages) "detailing current voiceover work experience and planned objectives and desire for growing your business, as well as established need OR for aspiring and part time talent, a written essay (no more than two pages) detailing your desire to enter the voiceover field and established need.
  • Recorded version of the essay, spoken by the applicant, in mp3 format
  • Recorded audition for VO Atlanta 2017 Promo Spot, in mp3 format
Similarly, applicants for the Youth scholarship must provide a:
  • Written essay (no more than one page) "describing what you love about voiceover and why your dream career is to be a voiceover artist ..."
  • Recorded version of the essay, spoken by the applicant, in mp3 format
  • Recorded audition for VO Atlanta 2017 Promo Spot, in mp3 format
A panel of industry professionals will choose the scholarship winners, and winners will be announced on November 20 at the VO Atlanta website and VO Peeps social media channels.
