2024 Audie Awards Gala In Hollywood Unveils
The Brightest Stars In Scores Of Categories

(VOXtra) - It's the annual event - with all its glitter, hugs, whooping cheers and applause - that honors stars and lights passionate fires among others to journey beyond just dreaming of success.

Last night at the Audio Publishers Association's (APA) 2024 Audie Awards Gala at the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles - and streamed worldwide (for free!) via YouTube - scores of audiobook narration stars were unveiled. And two of the brightest were called to the stage to receive their awards:

• Best Fiction Narrator: Billie Fulford-Brown (pictured) for The Last Lifeboat, by Hazel Gaynor, published by Penguin Random House Audio.
• Best Non-Fiction Narrator: Dion Graham (pictured) for King: A Life, by Jonathan Eig, published by Macmillan Audio.

Those awards were the annual competition's first in categories that replaced the traditional Best Male and Best Female awards. The APA says the change reflects its commitment to inclusivity and diversity.

And capping the 90-minute Gala, Surrender, authored and narrated by Bono, was honored as The Audiobook of the Year.

Now in its 29 year, the Audie Awards competition in scores of categories is the premier awards program in the U.S. honoring distinction in audiobook and spoken-word entertainment.
