Crystal: Audiobook of the Year for Still Foolin’ Em, which he wrote and
narrated – and also winning in the NARRATION BY AUTHOR OR AUTHORS and HUMOR
categories;
- Pete Seeger:
The Storm King, Distinguished Achievement in Production Award; and
- George
Guidall, narrator of more than 1,100 audiobooks, who received the year’s
Lifetime Achievement Award.
Amid echoing
cheers and applause last night at the 19th Annual Audie Awards Gala
and Presentation at the New York Academy of Medicine in New York City, these
talents and many, many more were awarded the coveted Audie – the ‘Oscar’ of the
audiobook industry, sponsored by the Audio Publishers Association (APA).
 Following an
elegant reception, APA President Michele Lee Cobb opened the awards
presentation and then riotous best-selling author Libba Bray (pictured) tipped the
laughter decibels in a multi-media show of commentary, video and song.
"It’s such fun to celebrate the growth and accomplishments of our industry in a wonderful setting," Cobb told the SRO audience. "We have much to celebrate and the quality of winners and nominees this year highlights that perfectly.”
