Perform & Learn From Audiobook Stars
In Pat Fraley's Smokin' Mysteries Event
Dec. 16, 2009

It goes down in LA on Jan. 16 and 23, kid ... but some audiobook VO careers might just rise from it.

Ya see, these guys - Pat Fraley, Scott Brick, Stefan Rudnicki ... oh, you heard of 'em? - will take 12 voice actors and shape 'em up to perform in an original audiobook drama. Yeah, they'll get credits and all.

They're calling it The Patrick Scott Smokin' Mysteries Event, and it starts 9:30 a.m. sharp at World Famous Buzzy's Recording, 6900 Melrose Ave., in LA.

Overwhelming demand - typical of Fraley's workshops - has stretched the event into two days: Cast 1, Jan. 16 and Cast 2, Jan. 23.

Gonna be there?

FUN WITH FRALEY

Besides being a master voice performer/director/producer, Fraley (left) is a master at making learning fun.

The concept for this audiobook narration workshop is for students to record an actual audiobook. They will perform with and be taught and directed by Fraley, Brick or Rudnicki.

Fraley is a multiple Audie award winner and finalist.

Brick (right) has recorded 500 audiobooks and been proclaimed Narrator of the Year by both AudioFile magazine and Publishers Weekly.

Rudnicki (left) has won 12 Audies, a Grammy Award, and been involved with casting, directing, producing and narrating over 1,000 audiobooks.

Fraley explains that students will "learn an array of performance techniques and your credits will be included in this collection of mysteries, which will be edited, mastered, published and promoted to the entire audiobook industry."

Tuition for the full day is $695 - and the event is expected to fill up fast.

BTW: All profits from the publishing of The Patrick Scott Smokin' Mystery Collection will go to The Wavedancer Foundation, a non-profit organization for the healing and recovery of disabled professionals, and providing opportunities to rebuild their lives.
